The Process: Building a Handcrafted Log Home

Morgan Log Homes are handcrafted from Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Pine, or Spruce.

Each individual log is air-dried and hand-peeled. The logs are then cut and assembled log by log at the Morgan Log Homes worksite.

Once completed, the log shell is disassembled and transported to the building site for re-erection.

Morgan Log Homes uses the Scandinavian Full-Scribe method along with saddle notches.

Logs are insulated with either fiberglass or wool insulation and a foam backer rod is utilized as well. Other custom foams or insulations are available upon request.
